Fisker; Tine, Basse (Special consultant). Inclusion and Interaction. Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift, 2010, Vol.43 ,5 ,359-372. – I recent years focus has increased on inclusion of children with special needs in normal daycare institutions and schools. A certain amount of interactional competences is a prerequisite if inclusion is to be successful. Interaction and inclusion are thus interdependent. This article will present conclusions from a PhD project which examines the opportunities for and barriers against development of interactional competences, which children with special needs meet in different pedagogical settings. – Tine Basse Fisker. –

Egelund, Niels (Professor, director of The Center for Strategic Educational Research). What are the Barriers against the 95 % Goal of the Government? Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift, 2010, Vol.43, 5, 373 – 383. – The Danish government has proclaimed that from 2015, 95% of all youngsters must finish an out of school education, and that 50 % must finish further education. At present pupil outcomes in primary and secondary school are important prerequisites of these visions. Low competences in Danish, math. etc. and receiving sp.ed often lead to lack of participation or drop out later on. Some problems are especially related to the transisition from one step to another in the educational system. – Niels Egelund.

Kjærgård, Helle; Støvring, Bente; Tromborg, Aase & Højberg, Ann-Lisbeth (Child neuropsychologists and ergotherapist). Learning among Boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift, 2010, Vol.43, 5, 384 – 395. – A study of the outcomes of psychological examinations of boys suffering from DMD shows that abt. 50 % have general learning disabilities, and that they need sp.ed. The children do, however, differ markedly, and a general cognitive profile of the boys therefore cannot be established. – Helle Kjærgård a.o.

Lentz, Jette; Bundgaard, Christina & Rasmussen, Ole, V. (Chief educational psychologist and consultant in Copenhagen and chief educational psychologist in Ballerup). The Training of Psychologists and Speech Therapists in Consultative Practices in Copenhagen. Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift, 2010, Vol.43, 5, 396 – 408. – In 2008 the school administration of Copenhagen decided to have all of its 150 psychologistsand speech therapists further educated. The aim is to promote consultative practices, and the training has these elements: relevant knowledge of theories and categories, the consultant and her team, and implementation in day care institutions. An evaluation of the outcomes for the first 50 participants shows their enthusiasm and contentment. One of the challenges facing them is how to pave the way to a new practice at the receiving end – in the institutions. – Bjørn Glæsel.

Petersen; Kit, Stender (Consultant of bullying). Is There Bullying in Kindergarten? Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift, 2010, Vol.43, 5, 409 – 420. – Inspired by recent research the author interviewed teachers in a day care institution and was presented with many observations, consistent with her knowledge abt. bullying. Viewed in the light of Helle Rabøl Hansen’s definitions, these demands are significant: bullying is a group phenomenon, it must be of a systematic character, it must be either direct and persecuting or indirect and exclusive, and it must take place in a context that the child cannot withdraw from. These demands should be used with curiosity and insight in order to be validated. – Bjørn Glæsel.

Ejlers, Benedicte (Chief of department, The Center of Ludomania). Youngsters and Gambling. Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift, 2010, Vol.43, 5, 421 – 429. – Denmark is becoming a nation of gamblers. In 2008 The National Research Center of Welfare found 33.000 youngsters betw. 12-17, having a problematic gambling behavior. This comprises e.g. 15 % of boys betw. 16 – 17. 23.7 % of youngsters holding jobs gamble, and more than 20 % without a job gamble. Several explanations are discussed. A new law about gambling is to be instigated in 2011. It is viewed with optimism because it contains the funding of preventive measures. – Bjørn Glæsel.
